This book is super popular, and I finally got the chance to read it this summer! So I thought I would write a review of ‘Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine’, to see whether I think it was worth all the hype. ![]() ![]() ![]() What is this book about? In Amberlough, a city much like Weimar-era Berlin, the cosmopolitan city produces many delights. The fourth nominee for the Nebula for best novel is Amberlough by Lara Elena Donnelly: If you do have any objections, you can probably figure out where to lodge them. ![]() I’m switching to a more freeform review of the books, and since no one reads them, I don’t expect any objections. For many years, I have tried to quantify elements of those novels, giving them a total rating out of 30 in five categories. Every year, I attempt to read all the nominees for the best novel in both the Hugo and Nebula awards. ![]() ![]() ![]() Wading through the depths of these images, one thing is made immediately clear: Ito has a very distinct style, and it is horrifying. 2 Body Horror & Visceral Detail: Ito’s Aesthetic AppealĮven a simple Google search for Junji Ito brings up pages upon pages of gory screenshots from his manga. Interestingly, the anime adaptation was criticised for falling short of the original works, partly due to an inability to replicate Ito’s incredibly detailed art style, and partly due to a lack of atmosphere. So what is it that makes his work so unique and appealing? They actually had some art already done with Rocket in it. So my pathway into the Guardians initially was, Marvel talked to me about perhaps doing Guardians of the Galaxy. I think one of the things that gets most of us, (at least myself) is that when we were kids that age, we never would have gone around saying half of what those kids did. It was funny and vulgar and said pretty much everything in a manner that was NOT politically correct. Granted, I have to admit that I was shocked and surprised through 95% of it. But then again, if you know that you're an easily offended person DON'T GO SEE THIS MOVIE! Or the faint of heart, or the easily offended. It's definitely not a show (or movie!) for kids. Now, I've only seen a handful of the television shows, and they're pretty racy and raunchy, but I've always liked what I've seen. What can I say but OH MY GODS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
